Ni ibihembo byari bihataniwe n’abantu baturuka mu bihugu bitandukanye byo muri Africa mu byiciro 52, barimo n’abanyarwanda benshi b'amazina azwi mu myidagaduro. Ni ubwa mbere ibi bihembo byari bitangiwe mu Rwanda nyuma y'inshuro nyinshi byabereye muri Afrika y'Epfo.

Ibihembo byinshi byegukanywe n'abo mu Rwanda, Tanzania, Zambia na Ethiopia. Abo mu Rwanda begukanye ibi bihembo bya Shining Star Africa Awards barimo The Ben wegukanye igihembo mu cyiciro cya "Best Star Artist East Africa" mu gihe Bruce Melodie we yegukanye icyo mu cyiciro cya "Best Male Artist East Africa".

Abandi begukanye igihembo ni Alicia na Germaiene begukanye igihembo mu cyiciro cya "Best Star New Gospel Artist" ku rwego rwa Afrika na Clapton Kibonge wegukanye igihembo mu cyiciro cya "Best Star Content Creator" ku rwego rwa Afrika.
